Statement on Redistricting Process in South Carroll
I appreciate the dozens of emails I receive daily from families affected by the painful process of school redistricting. Please keep passing me your concerns and terrific ideas on how to improve the options.

I reside in south Carroll with a middle school child and, like so many, my family is directly affected by this process. While I appreciate the SARC’s efforts, I would favor slowing down the process, investing capital funds to expand schools in South Carroll, and preserving communities.
The Blueprint initiative will affect how we use schools countywide. We must look at school use countywide and consider potential redistricting from a larger perspective.
I urge the current Board to move forward with feasibility studies to expand affected schools. I hope we get the necessary support from county and state officials to fund these capital projects. We need much more comprehensive input from community residents before moving forward.
